Cleghorn & Co. has various kind of moulds for all types of motor boats, rowing boats, speed boats, paddle boats, Shikara, kayaks, canoes, rowing sculls, pairs and fours.

We have qualified Naval Architects who design the vessels for us and keep inspecting the construction at every stage; we are very particular with the quality of our products and hence do not under any way compromise with the quality. Our trained workmen, under guidance of Naval Architect, Shipwrights and handling experts, mould boats as per rules laid down by Lloyds Registered of Shipping. We have severe quality control checks at every stage and do not compromise with the quality of raw materials. After the moulding is done the laminates are sent to the test house for testing.

We have an air-conditioned moulding room equipped with a dehumidifier where the temp as well as the humidity is controlled, sufficient lightning is provided at all corners of the workshop
M/s Cleghorn & Co., is an ISO 9001 – 2000 certified co established in 1939, situated on the bank of Adi Ganga, opp: Taj Bengal Hotel, beside Alipore Zoo in Calcutta and is easily accessible by air, rail and motor transport, was taken over by Mr. G. P. Sha (40 years of experience in boat building) and Mr. P. K. Sha (20 years of experience) in 1963.Since then Cleghorn & Co.. has been marching ahead. In 1969, Cleghorn & Co. was the first to make FRP boats while the rest were still with wooden and steel country boats. In the last 3 decades, Cleghorn & Co.. has mastered the art of moulding fiberglass boats of all kinds. Cleghorn & Co.. is a renowned oldest manufacturing company in the India and manufacturer of various kinds of speed boat, motor boat, ambulance boat, inflatable rubber boat, dinghy, raft, aluminium boat, paddle boat, Shikara, water scooter, rowing boats, MS barges, steel launches and life jacket etc. etc.

Apart from the above Cleghorn & Co. is also distributor of Eco-sounder cum fish finders, Compass, GPS, Wet suit, Life Buoy and dealers of “MARINER” Out Board Motor & “MARES” Scuba Diving Equipments.

Cleghorn & Co.. not only sell these equipments but also provide efficient after sales service for proper maintenance of the above equipments, we have sufficient stock of spares for OBM’s.

All boats, launches and barges are Custom built, designed for specific purpose.

Cleghorn & Co.. is one of the oldest companies in India. Cleghorn & Co. is registered with Directorate of Cottage & Small Scale Industries (SSI) under Govt. of West Bengal, Small Industries Service Institute (SISI) under Govt. of India & National Small Industries Corpn. Ltd. (NSIC) under Govt. of India Enterprises and also registered with ISO 9001 : 2000.

All boats manufactured here are built guidance of Naval Architect, Shipwrights as per rules laid down by Lloyds Registered of Shipping and inspected and accepted by the Inland Water Transport (IWT), Govt. of West Bengal, Mercantile Marine Dept. (MMD), Govt. of India and also India Register Of Shipping (IRS), an independent classification society.

Cleghorn & Co. is mainly manufacturing and supplying the above since last 45 years to Indian Cost Guard, Air force, Army, BSF, SSB, Forest Department, and office of the District Magistrate and other Govt. Departments and Various NGO’s i.e. UNICEF, W.H.O., Ramakrishna Mission, Tagore Society etc. etc. and also supplying overseas i.e. Nepal & Bhutan.
